system-environment set-up
This is the general pattern or paradigm of the relationship that any living organism, be it biological, psychological or social, entertains with its surroundings. Every entity can be looked at as a system wit everything else forming its environment. Obviously, any such entity is also part of the environment of another discrete entity that has any relation to it. The system-environment set-up can also be formulated in terms of Simondon's process of individuation – though the two do not map exactly – where the individual is the system and he pre-individual is the environment.
